Camp Phillip provides relaxation in creation and renewal in Christ.
At Camp Phillip we provide relaxation in creation and renewal in Christ to Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) youth, adults, families, churches and schools throughout the year. We are working to develop a "quiet place" where WELS Christians can come to be built up physically and spiritually.
"Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." Jesus
It was Jesus who urged His disciples, "Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." The pace had been hectic; the people were swarming around them; they were exhausted; their batteries needed recharging.
So they went outdoors--away from normal distractions, away from the hectic pace. Here they rested physically and Jesus built them up spiritually.
On a number of occasions Jesus led His disciples to the mountains or the wilderness or across the lake to a quiet place. While they may have "retreated" by stepping away from their normal routine, everything else that happened during that time was an "advance."
Is the quiet place found at a Christian camp that important for young people?
Watch this short 2 minute video by CCCA (Christian Camp and Conference Association) to see just how important it is and then sign up for summer camp at Camp Phillip. We love the opportunity to serve over a thousand campers every summer.
