Groups keep staff on their toes
"It must be nice that summer's done. Now you can relax a little!"
The staff always chuckles when they hear this from friends or family. It's true that not having hundreds of kids at camp provides a little relief. But the months of September and October are so full of field trip groups and weekend retreats that sometimes it feels like the summer never ended.
But this is what it's all about! We love that so many groups continue to visit, and we thank God for continuing to work through our camp. We know that in tough economic times a retreat or field trip is an easy thing to cut, but we haven't seen that happen yet. Praise the King!
Now back to work....
|Fall work weekend |
We need your help!
Join us from October 24-26 for our annual fall work weekend. Every year volunteers gather to work on a variety of projects around camp. Some clean while others work on maintenance or landscaping projects.
Now for the good news: the weekend is free! We provide the food and lodging as a way of saying thank you, and you get to spend a beautiful fall weekend at camp. You can stay overnight Friday and Saturday and join us for Sunday morning worship, or you can come just for the day.

Campers have an extra opportunity to sell
This year we've added a second cookie dough sale to help campers raise money for summer camp. You may know that we've annually done a spring sale, but many of our families have said that they'd like to be able to earn some credit earlier in the year (in order to apply it towards the Early Bird registration fees).
So we listened! This fall we've sent out cookie dough sale envelopes to kids who have attended summer camp in the last 3 years. Once again kids will earn $3 of camp credit for each bucket they sell. The selling deadline is November 1 and we'll deliver the dough in early December, just in time to make the easiest Christmas cookies ever.
If you'd like to be a part of this sale but you didn't receive any information in the mail, you can find the order form online. Just click the link below.

Anyone looking for a house?
When the Hansen family left Green Bay in April to join our staff, they placed their house on the market. Several months later it remains unsold. It seems that the housing market is not what it used to be (which is only news to you if you've been living under a rock).
So here's our request: Spread the news! If you know anyone looking to buy or rent, or if you're looking yourself, send Joel an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
! And if you are unable to help in this way, join them in prayer. We'd love to be able to help our Camp Phillip family through this challenge.
