"Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.  And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it.  For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."    -Isaiah 40:4-5
Jesus Cares camp
Mark your calendars!

Jesus Cares
Each year, dozens of developmentally disabled adults join us for summer camp.  The program is called "Jesus Cares" camp, named after the WELS organization that ministers to people with special needs.

These wonderful people hold a special place in the hearts of staff members, past and present, who have had the opportunity to work with Jesus Cares camps in the summer.  If you didn't know any better, you might assume that the counselors themselves are the ones paying for the camp, judging by their level of personal excitement and enthusiasm.  In addition to leading the activities and caring for campers' needs, counselors form a lasting relationship with their new friends.  It's truly a blessing to make such good friends and to grow in so many ways.

This year Jesus Cares camp will be held from July 5-9.  To register, or to learn more, please email Bill Truebenbach at, or call 952-873-6000.

Now's the time to register for the teen retreat

We hope to see you at our next teen retreat, now just two weeks away.  If it's personal time and relationships that you crave, you'll like it here.  This retreat will be quite a bit smaller than the winter one, giving you more one-on-one time with the people you love and a chance to get to know others a little better.

The theme is "Text Messages," and we'll take a look at sections from 1 Corinthians to discover God's messages to us today.  The weekend will feature a "High-Text" scavenger hunt that you won't want to miss.  Register by sending in the form, found by clicking the link below.

Camp receives grant for increased cookie credit

work weekend
Every year camp families earn thousands of dollars in financial aid through our cookie dough sale.  The idea is simple: you sell a tub of cookie dough, and some of the profit gets added to your ledger as "camp credit."  The more you sell, the more you make.  Easy squeezy.

Here's the exciting part - for the second year in a row, we've received a grant from the Antioch Foundation that will allow us to offer an extra $2 of camp credit for each tub sold.  That means that you'll earn $5 of credit for every tub!  It's a deal you simply can't miss.  Use the money for this year's fees or store purchases, or bank it for next year if you'd like.  Click on the links to learn more and find the necessary forms.  The sale is done on April 16, so sell now!

Chimney in need of repair

smoke stack
Nathan Klusmeyer, our maintenance director, has asked us to put out a plea for a mason who would be willing to lend us a hand.  We have a chimney on our dining hall that's in need of repair, and we'd love to have some help.  If this is something you might be able to do, or if you know someone else who could help, please email Nathan at, or call us in the office (920-787-3202) and we'll make sure he gets the message.  Thank you!

(note: chimneys pictured are in no way an accurate representation of the actual chimney in need of repair.  Come to think of it, they don't look like anything in this entire county.)
