"You are the God who performs miracles; You display your power among the peoples.  With your mighty arm you redeemed your people."

Storm rips through county
An opportunity to lend a hand

Committee on Relief
On the morning of September 2, a storm tore through Waushara County that knocked over (and completely uprooted) several trees around camp.  Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was only minor damage to camp property.  But we did lose power for about 45 hours, which caused a lot of problems for our campers during Family Camp since no electricity means no water or plumbing!

We've had some gracious volunteers from the WELS Committee on Relief working for the past several days to clean up the mess. Pastor Tom, Nathan and other volunteers have also been working hard to clean up.

If you'd like to lend a hand, join us for our Fall Work Weekend on October 28-30!  We provide the food and lodging.  If you have a chainsaw, bring it.  If not, you can help clear trails, split wood, and do general clean-up as we prepare camp for the winter months. Call 920-787-3202 or email to let us know you're coming.  Thank you!

Family campers share experience

storm clean-up
One group had extra reason to be anxious during the storm.
A few families from St Lucas, Milwaukee were here for our family camp and staying in tents.  They saw the storm coming, so they took shelter in the Dining Hall.  When they returned to their site after the storm, they found one of their tents in a crumpled ball and at least 5 trees down immediately surrounding their site. "All night, all day, angels watching over me!"

They didn't even need to be asked.  They jumped right in and started the clean-up process.  It was the Body of Christ in action. Thanks, friends.  You are truly a blessing.

Sell cookie dough before October 14

Cookie dough sales
Every year camp families earn thousands of dollars in financial aid through our cookie dough sale.  The idea is simple--you sell a tub of cookie dough and some of the profit gets added to your ledger as "camp credit" which can be applied to your 2012 camps.  And the exciting part is that once again the Antioch Foundation has given us a grant so that we can offer you an extra $2 for every tub you sell.  So you'll earn $5 of camp credit for each tub of cookie dough that you sell.  Start selling now by going to the downloads page and checking out the cookie dough information under "Funding forms".  Sell now, because the sale is done on October 14th.
